The Senior Financial Analyst role within the Canada Supply Chain will play a critical part in supporting control and shared accounting functions. This position encompasses processes related to manufacturing, bottling, and warehousing facilities. The incumbent will be responsible for the accurate reporting and analysis of financial results, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accounting principles, and corporate accounting policies and procedures. This role will contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations within the Supply Chain, driving informed decision-making and supporting strategic initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Monthly preparation and review of cost center spend, including activity rates comparison of actual vs. budget, with collaboration from department leads.
- Review and analysis of Balance Sheet and P&L GL accounts, including preparation of journal entries for month-end closing.
- Forecasting and analysis of COGS variance results, including volume absorption, operating efficiency, production variances, wastes, PPV, and other variances.
-Review and analysis of energy, water, and electricity plant budget and actual performance.
Budgeting and Strategic Planning
- Participate in the annual budgeting, strategic planning, and forecasting process.
- Collaborate with the Maturing Inventory group to provide accurate data for use in FP&A/Supply Chain decisions.
- Lead fixed asset management, ensuring compliance with corporate policy on fixed asset count and tagging, impairment review, acquisitions, and disposals.
Compliance and Controls
- Ensure compliance with Excise requirements, including filing of monthly Excise returns with supporting backups.
- Review and certify Blackline accounts reconciliations each month.
- Review the control environment, perform and implement internal control procedures, maintain KPIs, and lead efforts to address deficiencies and drive continuous improvement in inventory, fixed assets, financial, and operational controls.
Operational Support and Collaboration
- Perform SAP month-end close process.
- Assist with year-end audits.
- Collaborate and support finance and accounting functions as designated and discussed with the Manager.
- Provide ITF support for TRACC initiatives, barrel counts, fixed asset counts, and other finance/accounting-related tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficiency in SAP, Business Intelligence, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Preference given to candidates with:
- CPA or enrolled in CPA program
- Experience in manufacturing or production environments
- Background in Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, and/or Product Costing
- Familiarity with Alcohol and Excise Tax regulations
