The Sales Planning & Performance Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support to the Commercial Director by monitoring commercial performance, identifying business opportunities and risks, and generating actionable insights that drive profitable growth.
This role serves as the primary source of commercial and financial analysis across channels and customers, integrating Sell In, Sell Out, Trade Investment, NSV, Gross Profit, market share, and execution metrics to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
Role Responsibilities
Commercial Performance Management
- Monitor and analyze Sell In and Sell Out performance by customer, channel, region, and brand.
- Track volume, NSV, Gross Profit, Trade Investment, and market share performance against targets.
- Identify risks and opportunities to deliver annual commercial objectives.
- Develop insights for weekly, monthly, and quarterly business performance reviews.
- Analyze performance to track Sales Incentive Plans design and coverage.
- Steward achievement on Financial and Market Performance for Commercial and HR Targets and Contests.
Business Planning & Forecasting
- Support sales forecasting and estimate updates throughout the fiscal year.
- Track customer and channel performance versus budget and financial commitments.
Financial & Trade Investment Analysis
- Monitor customer profitability and identify opportunities to improve returns.
- Analyze pricing, discounts, commercial conditions, and investment effectiveness.
- Support decision-making through scenario modeling and financial analysis.
Reporting & Insights
- Build and maintain dashboards and scorecards for senior leadership.
- Translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Consolidate information from multiple sources to create a single view of business performance.
- Prepare executive presentations and business review materials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in Sales Analytics, Commercial Finance, Business Intelligence, or FMCG commercial functions.
- Strong Leadership Culture – Growth Mindset.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Power BI or Tableau skills.
- Financial acumen and analytical capabilities.
- Experience working with large datasets and performance reporting.
