Role Responsibilities
The People Solutions Specialist serves as the primary onsite HR execution partner for the Clermont plant while also providing regular onsite and operational support to the Booker Noe facility. The role is 100% onsite, with time intentionally split based on business needs, and is responsible for high-volume transactional HR work, employee walk-up support, union contract administration assistance, and coordination across payroll, HR systems, and compliance processes. The Specialist acts as the first point of contact for many employee questions and issues at both sites, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely resolution while escalating complex matters to the HR Manager as appropriate.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage attendance programs across both sites, including point tracking, exceptions, EVAC days, bereavement, and related documentation.
- Track and administer FMLA and other leaves of absence, maintaining active cases and ensuring timely updates, documentation, and compliance.
- Coordinate weekly payroll reporting and reconciliation for Clermont and Booker Noe, partnering closely with payroll to resolve discrepancies.
- Perform and maintain Dayforce timekeeping management and SuccessFactors transactions, including hires, job changes, leaves, and terminations, for employees at both facilities.
- Track union probation periods (50/75/90 working days) and maintain accurate probation status reporting.
- Serve as the primary onsite contact for employee walk-ups, providing policy interpretation, guidance, and issue resolution within established guidelines.
- Support union contract administration, including bid management, seniority lists, and contract-related data tracking.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics across sites, including scheduling union orientation, safety training, and quality training.
- Provide training coordination and compliance support, particularly for Grade 0 populations.
- Maintain manual documentation to support grievances, mediations, and employee relations processes.
- Support employee recognition activities, including token programs, swag closet management, and photo/TV content updates.
- Coordinate limited tuition reimbursement activities and documentation.
- Provide ad hoc employee assistance and administrative support driven by onsite presence and business needs.
- Partner closely with onsite HR leadership to ensure consistent application of policies, contracts, and employment practices across both facilities.
- Coordinate with People Solutions, HRIS, Payroll, and Centers of Excellence to ensure data accuracy and service delivery.
- Serve as a key connector between employees, union representatives, and HR leadership.
- Operate effectively with generalist backup support when available.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical HR experience.
- 2–4 years of progressive HR, People Solutions, or HR Operations experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
- Working knowledge of labor and employment laws applicable to union and non-union environments.
- Demonstrated experience with attendance management, leave administration, and payroll coordination.
- Strong proficiency with HR systems such as Dayforce, SuccessFactors, or similar platforms.
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting a unionized workforce (UFCW or similar).
- Experience with bid processes, seniority tracking, and collective bargaining agreement administration.
- Experience in high walk-up, employee-facing HR environments with limited self-service adoption.
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites or split-site HR coverage.
