Role Responsibilities
- Must accurately read proof by means of DMA, and complete gauge reports. Government regulations specify this proof must be exact.
 - Unloading, loading, proofing, reducing and regauging distilled spirits.
 - Must be alert always ensuring that there is no mingling or overflow of spirits in tanks.
 - Must take volumetric gauges & accurately package weigh tanks of spirits.
 - Must accurately adjust proof of bottling tanks, making all necessary calculations to insure correct proof.
 - Must operate filter presses for Cordials, whiskey and any other product requiring the filtering process; also, must be able to pack and tear down filter presses when necessary.
 - Must operate all chilling and heating systems. When necessary, must be able to add carbon and diatomaceous earth for proper filtering.
 - Must open and close all valves properly for transferring, receiving whiskey, water, alcohol and any other product transferred by pipeline or bulk.
 - Must roll, dump and handle full and empty barrels, drums and other containers used during operations.
 - Must operate portable pumps and filters making proper hook-ups and adjustments to same.
 - Must accurately read all meters, water, alcohol, sugar, syrup, wine. Also, must be able to read accurately gauge glasses, scale beams, sugar scales and any other devices for measure or gauge.
 
Additional Role and Responsibilities
- Must make accurate mathematical calculations for government forms.
 - Must make proper hook-ups to tankers prior to pumping and unloading.
 - Must operate analytical equipment used for color and clarity determination.
 - Must maintain accurate records as required.
 
- Must hook up and wash out tanks properly to ensure a quality product.
 - Ability to be certified for your department (if applicable)
 - Sanitation duties to keep working area clean and organized always.
 - Safety is everyone’s responsibility; identify risks and report violations, near misses, or injuries immediately.
 - Knowledge of GMP’s, safety standards, quality standards and demonstrated ability to react and communicate effectively to issues.
 - Other duties as assigned.
 
Requirements and Qualifications
- Average to above average attendance and performance/safety records
 - Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
 - Display a teamwork attitude
 - Demonstrate the ability to read, write, and comprehend English with understanding as it relates to job tasks
 - Ability to communicate effectively and develop rapport with internal and external stakeholders
 - Must have ability to perform math functions.
 - Must have ability to read proof and record accurately
