This role is located onsite at the Old Grandad Plant, in Frankfort, KY. This role reports directly to Senior Engineering & Maintenance Manager.

Role Responsibilities

Mission of Role:  

The Senior Controls Engineer will lead and advance the Frankfort plant’s controls and electrical capabilities to improve equipment reliability, safety, automation, and operational performance through strong technical leadership, continuous improvement, and effective execution of maintenance and capital projects.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 7+ years’ experience in an electrical and/or controls engineering field
  • Preferred bachelor’s in electrical engineering
  • Strong electrical aptitude and experience with low voltage circuity (480V)
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Computer literate – preference to SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong technical knowledge in maintenance crafts, possesses mechanical inclination, understanding tools, various equipment
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Compliance with standard operating procedures, legal and other requirements including health and safety, fire protection, environmental, quality, security and continuous improvement programs is a requirement of the job.
  • Union environment experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and weekends as needed and access all plant areas, including climbing ladders, stairs, and other physical activities; ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Possess a valid driver's license, for driving to remote plants. Must be able to walk moderate distances - up to one mile. Must be able to tolerate extreme heat and cold for short periods of time. Must have adequate vision to take field measurements, use computers, and read drawings and maps.
