What makes this a great opportunity?

As part of the Supply Chain Finance Team, Global Trade is an area of strategic growth and development. The Global Trade, Excise Duties & Indirect taxes Manager will play a key role in Oversighting Customs and Excise issues in coordination with the different SGS´s entities, but also on the definition and execution of the Suntory Global Spirits's global trade & excise duties policies.

Role Responsibilities

  • Implement SGS´s global trade compliance policies, guidelines and standards for customs & excise management in International Region
  • Implement AEO procedures in different jurisdictions.
  • Drive continuous improvements in Tariffs and Customs costs.
  • Support Controlling area on subjects related to Tariffs, Customs and indirect taxation
  • Deal with Tax Authorities in the jurisdictions which require support; be prepared to liaise with Tax Authorities where necessary.
  • Keep up to date with customs and excise regulatory changes and best practice in all jurisdictions that belong to International Region.
  • Resolution of queries from customs/tax authorities and internal teams.
  • Partner of projects to create new RTM
  • Participate in global trade projects to deliver shareholder value/manage potential exposures
  • Ensure timely resolution of queries from customs/tax authorities, markets.
  • Supervise day to day operation/customs declaration, advice on HS code determination, implement internal controls and documentation requirement.
  • Support Global Trade leader in optimizing cost structure for taxation
  • Support with digitization and transformation projects as the migration to S4Hana.
  • Support Global Trade leader in delivering training on trade compliance matters to any jurisdiction, promoting a culture of trade compliance within the employees.
  • Partner of Supply Chain and Commercial on Support changes on transfer pricing, Sourcing to reduce the Tariffs & customs invoice
  • Deliver financial targets.

Qualifications

Education: University Degree, preferable in Law, Administration or Economics.

Certifications/Licensure:  Master in Tax or MBA Finance would be a plus.

Years and Industry experience:  Minimum 5-6 years international customs and/ or indirect tax experience with a multinational, big 4 or law firm or Tax Authority.

Level and type of experience:

Setting up global customs policies and strategies for multinational groups, requesting special regimes   or statuses with Customs tax authorities (AEO, IPR, Customs Warehouse Bonding, Transits, etc.) and management of the daily activities, experience in regional and national audits, transfer pricing policies experience would be a plus
