Financial Controller

The successful candidate will have the chance to join a Global Team and play a significant role within the Controlling organization. The opportunity to act as a Business Partner for the market advising of potential implications of the decisions taken from an Accounting/Controls point of view.
Role Mission:
- Ensure Local Accounts are properly stated and there is strong controls in place to guarantee minimal risks and accurate Financial Statements for the local legal entity.
- It is a fundamental role in the finance structure of the company, ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded for statutory and management reporting purposes according to Group Policies and internal procedures. The role´s duties also include accountability for accurate and timely closing and financial reporting to HQ.
Role Responsibilities
- Ensure quality and accuracy of the execution of close process for the local reporting unit in accordance with established deadlines and Company Policies and Accounting principles (Local GAAP and IFRS).
- Complete quality review of new agreements and contracts for financial and accounting implications before execution. Review should include assessment of revenue recognition based on terms of agreement per IFRS.
- Advise senior management on Accounting implications of current operations and future plans in accordance with Corporate policies & IFRS requirements with a strong business partnering mentality, always providing with solutions and/or alternatives to the business.
- Cooperation, engagement and coordination with various auditors (conducted by internal and external parties) to support timely and efficient completion of audits.
- Review of specified elements of the financial statements including critical, sensitive and judgmental areas, balance sheet forecasts, monthly general ledger account reconciliations…
- Responsible to ensure all business policies/ procedures are appropriate and timely updated and fully compliant with all internal/ external regulations and requirements. Implement standard Regional processes and requirements in the local unit. Responsibility on ensuring Statutory requirements are met.
- Highlight any process/ control gaps during the course of normal operations and develop measures to mitigate weaknesses.
- Maintain a close and constant link with Regional Controlling, always keeping them current on material or special transactions going on in the market as well as ensuring alignment on Accounting positions prior to proceed to implementation.
- Ad hoc roles deem relevant and appropriate for the role as assigned by direct reporting manager
- Support on-going projects in local market.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years experience, preferably inclusive a minimum of 3 years in Big 4 Accounting Firm
- University degree in Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent
- Technical skills (Accounting background, CPA/ACCA, Big 4, SOX)
- SAP R3 FI, and BW/EDW experiences
- Ability to work under pressure, comfortable with a fast-paced, change environment, result-oriented, paying careful attention to details.
- Collaboration and effective stakeholder management.
- Presentation experience (including preparation and delivery)
- Strong communication skills in an international environment
- Business fluent in English
