Position Summary
As a key leader within the Global Demand Planning Center of Excellence, the Regional Demand Planning COE Lead is responsible for advancing Demand Planning capability and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) maturity across the assigned region while leading selected global transformation initiatives.
This role serves as the primary partner between the Global Demand Planning COE and regional planning organizations, driving adoption of global planning standards, statistical forecasting capabilities, analytics, and digital solutions that improve planning performance and business outcomes. The role also represents regional business priorities within the Global COE and builds organizational capability through governance, coaching, and continuous improvement.
Success in this role is measured by improvements in planning capability, forecast performance, adoption of global standards and statistical forecasting capabilities, successful delivery of strategic initiatives, and measurable business outcomes across the region.
Role Responsibilities
Regional Demand Planning Leadership
- Serve as the primary Demand Planning COE partner for the assigned region.
- Drive adoption of global Demand Planning processes, standards, statistical forecasting capabilities, analytics, and digital tools while representing regional business needs within the Global COE.
- Partner with regional planning leaders to improve forecast quality, planning maturity, and operational performance.
- Drive continuous improvement through planning KPIs, business feedback, and industry best practices.
Global Transformation & Capability Leadership
- Lead assigned global Demand Planning capabilities and strategic initiatives from planning through deployment, ensuring successful delivery, business adoption, and measurable business value.
- Manage cross-functional project teams, stakeholder alignment, organizational change, and communications.
- Partner with IT, the Analytics COE, and Regional COE Leads to implement process improvements, analytics, and digital capabilities.
- Incorporate regional business requirements into scalable global solutions and share best practices across regions.
Long Description
Statistical Forecasting & Capability Adoption
- Partner with the Global Demand Modeling team to deploy and embed statistical forecasting capabilities across the assigned region.
- Lead regional business readiness, including user acceptance testing, communications, training, and adoption planning.
- Drive adoption of statistical forecasting capabilities by enabling planners to effectively leverage baseline forecasts, planning drivers, and analytics.
- Gather business feedback and partner with the Global Demand Modeling team to continuously improve user experience and business outcomes.
Governance, Capability Development & Continuous Improvement
- Execute the Global Demand Planning governance model by evaluating and prioritizing regional enhancement requests while representing regional business priorities.
- Build regional planning capability through coaching, training, documentation, and the train-the-trainer model.
- Promote self-service through knowledge resources and standardized ways of working.
- Measure capability adoption and planning effectiveness to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Long Description
Business Partnership & Operational Excellence
- Build trusted partnerships across Commercial, Supply Planning, Finance, the Analytics COE, IT, and other cross-functional teams to align Demand Planning capabilities with business priorities.
- Serve as the voice of the region by identifying planning challenges, representing regional needs, and balancing global standards with business requirements.
- Use business performance metrics and operational insights to improve planning effectiveness and deliver measurable business value.
Leadership & Organizational Capability
- Lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders to deliver strategic Demand Planning initiatives and business outcomes.
- Coach, mentor, and develop planning capability through knowledge sharing, training, and continuous feedback.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Model Suntory Global Spirits leadership behaviors and champion diversity, inclusion, and engagement.
- Support talent development and contribute to building organizational capability across the Global Demand Planning COE.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of operational experience in Demand Planning, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), or Supply Chain Planning within complex manufacturing or consumer goods environments.
- Subject matter expertise in Demand Planning processes, statistical forecasting, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) best practices.
- Proven track record leading Demand Planning transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with SAP IBP Demand Planning strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of digital technologies, planning analytics, and Demand Planning best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to develop talent and build high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; highly collaborative.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
- 20% expected travel
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with globally dispersed cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization, with strong business acumen and understanding of organizational challenges.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple strategic initiatives.
- Comfortable navigating high-change, unstructured environments that require creative approaches to influence and communicate with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders.
