Our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Interns gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting critical safety and environmental initiatives. This role provides direct exposure to OSHA and EPA compliance, site audits, and continuous improvement of safety systems.You will work closely with EHS professionals and operations teams to ensure a safe workplace, participate in real-world inspections and audits, and contribute to meaningful projects that enhance site safety and regulatory compliance. You will also gain exposure to safety management during planned maintenance shutdowns and formal ISO training practices.Internships are paid, full-time (40 hours/week), and based at our St. Croix facility 

Role Responsibilities

Support compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations in a manufacturing environment (20%)
•    Assist in conducting field safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across the facility (20%)
•    Participate in ISO management system audits (e.g., ISO 14001/45001) and attend ISO-related training sessions (15%)
•    Support site safety during planned shutdowns and routine maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to safety procedures (15%)
•    Assist in development and improvement of emergency preparedness materials, including evacuation maps and signage (10%)
•   Support incident reporting, investigation, and tracking of corrective actions (10%)
•   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture and awareness (10%)

Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age by the start of the internship
•    Currently enrolled in a Process Technology program or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field
•    Strong interest in EHS, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing safety systems
•    Basic understanding (or willingness to learn) OSHA and EPA regulations
•    Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and recommend improvements
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams
• Self-starter who is comfortable working in a hands-on, industrial environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Must be authorized to work in the US
