This role is pivotal in delivering our Suntory Global Spirits advocacy programs for the On-Premise channel, in line with our Club Suntory Advocacy platform. From events, to social media, website content, PR and project management- this is a hand on, Gemba focused, fast paced and energetic role.
Role Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Project manage multiple projects at different life stages towards exceptional activation and execution.
- Project lead specific events and educational programs from initial concept, planning, successful execution and within allocated time and budget.
- Development of project briefs and works with stakeholders and external agencies to produce required event materials, resource and organize logistics.
- Project lead for the end-to-end management of Suntory Cup Bartending Competition
Public Relations: (PR)
- Oversee relationships with trade publications and sponsorship partners, ensuring alignment with Club Suntory's strategic objectives and maximizing visibility across both print and digital platforms.
- Stay informed about all relevant trade publication and sponsorship opportunities, including their timelines, to effectively plan and execute promotional strategies.
- Liaise with PR teams to identify and evaluate the best opportunities for Club Suntory, ensuring optimal reach and budget efficiency for promotional initiatives.
- Write and prepare content for PR releases, coordinating with the Head of Advocacy for review and approval to ensure alignment with brand messaging and objectives.
Budget Management
- Lead team budget management via the BI Budget Tracking Tools – includes monthly budget updates, GL management, Purchase Orders, Purchase Releases, Accruals, as well as invoicing/facilitating vendor payment. Ensure learnings gathered from time in trade and field sales team inputs, events and ROI that inform future activations to improve efficiency.
Advocacy
- Collaborating with the wider advocacy team to embed Club Suntory team on local trade advocacy strategy and event ideation.
- Event co-ordination – Lead team on event execution and Support National Ambassadors with Nationally lead programming.
- Creation of Pre and Post-event communication driving awareness and attendance, ensuring the delivery of every event to the highest standards.
- Measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of all activations and brand engagement via attendance and measurables.
- Act as the conduit between Global brand house, local and global advocacy team for bartender education materials, merchandise materials, and serving as the local expert.
Creativity & Flair
- Drive concept creation and ideation of events / activations utilizing knowledge of Suntory Oceania portfolio, it’s consumers and the industry.
- Active participant in development of marketing activities, digital and activation strategies
- Assistance with communications and content planning for strategy, to support campaigns within local market activity
Insights into Action
- This is a truly Gemba focused role, therefore time in trade to understand the needs and venues and people is a requirement.
- Providing trade insights to the SGS cross functional team, that you then use to develop new programs and strategy.
- Understanding of local and global trade advocacy programs and the competitor landscape
Stakeholder Relationships & Engagement
- Drive Internal engagement and companywide awareness of Club Suntory. Excite and engage internal teams on Brand advocacy and Club Suntory and Suntory Cup strategies.
- Ensure the Exchange team are aware of the Blend activities and their role to bring to life
- Delivery of monthly reporting on market activity as well as digital marketing strategies and campaign results.
- Develop & nurture effective relationships, collaborating with sales teams, ensuring marketing activation process is on time and relevant inputs are received
- Build collaborative relationships across SGS On Premise, Brand & Category
Qualifications
- Industry Professional individual with at least 3 years’ experience in related field with a strong events background, 3+ years of experience within the alcohol industry preferred
- An enthusiasm for spirits knowledge and a good knowledge of the wine and beer markets
- Genuine passion for On Premise, cocktail and bar industry
- Qualification in Event, Business Management or Tertiary education
- Independent thinker who works well alone and as part of a team
- Dynamic, energetic individual and hands on
- Must be in good physical condition and able to perform strenuous activities on occasions, including lifting and carrying items, as the role may require active participation in event activations and on-site management.
- Experience Proficiency on social media platforms and ability to adopt new tech platforms as required (eg External: Instagram Facebook etc, Internal-: Yammer, Ohayo, Viva Engage )
- Excellent communicator, both verbal and written across various stakeholder level
- Time management and analytical capabilities
- Key City Travel up to ~30% of time, (open to travel to other destinations to meet business needs)
- Candidate must have a current Australian drivers license and have own mode of transport
- This role may require some evening and weekend work as required
- Candidate to be based in Sydney
- Holds a relevant passport and has the ability to travel internationally when and if required
